The Feed

What changed each day in everything you follow: your monitors, and the properties you follow.

What it shows

The Feed is everything you follow, newest first. That is two kinds of thing:

  • each of your monitors that is a list: what it caught that day;
  • each property you follow: what happened there that day.

It is yours alone. A teammate's monitors and the properties they follow are in their Feed, not yours. A monitor that counts a number a day rather than listing records is not in the Feed yet; its own page shows it.

Days are the day we learned it

The Feed is grouped by the day a record reached us, in that market's own time zone, not the date the county gave it. A permit issued in 2019 that only just reached the public record is news today, so it is under today.

Every line also shows when it happened. When the two are a month or more apart, the line says so: Dated Mar 2019. Counties publish at very different speeds, and some records surface years late, so that gap is worth seeing.

A property you have just activated is the same: what the activation found arrives that day, most of it dated.

Reading a card

Each day holds one card per monitor and one per property that had something, properties first. A card is split by kind of signal, the same groups and colours as the map and your monitors: each with how many there were and up to three examples, the largest value first, then the newest.

  • Click a line to open that record. Back returns you to the Feed where you were.
  • View monitor opens that monitor on that day, with every record it caught.
  • View property opens the property, with its whole history.

A record can be on two cards. If you follow a property inside a market one of your monitors watches, something that happens there is on both, because it belongs to both.

Earlier days

The Feed opens on the most recent week that has anything in it. View more, at the bottom, adds the week before. It goes back as far as your monitors have kept days: a new monitor, or one you have just changed, starts with its last 30.

The dot in the nav

  • A blue dot on Feed means something new has come in since you last opened it. Opening the Feed clears it. Properties and Monitors carry the same dot for what is new under each.
  • An orange dot on Monitors means one of yours is paused, so your Feed is quietly missing it. It stays until the monitor is running again or deleted, however often you look.

When it is empty

You are not following anything yet means you have no list monitor and follow no property. Activate a property from the map, or ask in a thread for a monitor.

Nothing new means you follow things and nothing has come in for them. A paused monitor is not in the Feed until you resume it.
